Stuck on the 'Crimson Knight' boss in Elden Ring: Best no-summons strategy?

I've been banging my head against the Crimson Knight for hours in my solo Elden Ring run and just can't seem to crack his second phase without summons. Are there any specific weapon types, Ash of War combos, or shield recommendations that make this fight manageable? Seriously need some community wisdom here!
